🎓 VAC · Constitutional Values & Fundamental Duties

Meet our Team

"The Constitution is not a mere lawyers' document — it is a vehicle of Life, and its spirit is always the spirit of an Age." — Dr. B.R. Ambedkar

📚 The Project

Why We Built Samvidhan

A digital platform born from academic purpose, built with patriotic passion.

This website — Samvidhan — was created as part of our academic assignment for the subject "Constitutional Values and Fundamental Duties", which is offered under the Value Addition Course (VAC) programme of our university curriculum.

The VAC programme is designed to go beyond textbook learning, encouraging students to create meaningful, real-world projects that contribute to society. Our subject challenged us to understand the Constitution deeply — not just read it, but live it, and help others understand it too.

We chose to build a comprehensive, interactive website because we believe knowledge of the Constitution should not be locked inside textbooks or courtrooms. Every citizen — student, farmer, professional, homemaker — deserves to know their rights, their duties, and the values that make India a nation.

The Idea

To make the Indian Constitution accessible, engaging, and understandable for every citizen — especially the youth who will shape India's future.

🎯

The Goal

Bridge the gap between constitutional literacy and the common person. Rights are only powerful when citizens know them and exercise them responsibly.

🌱 Takeaways

What We Learned

Building this website taught us far more than any lecture could.

📖

The Constitution is Alive

We learned that the Constitution isn't a static document — it has been amended 106 times and continues to evolve. Landmark cases like Kesavananda Bharati show how courts breathe life into it.

🤝

Rights Come with Duties

You cannot claim a right without accepting its corresponding duty. A citizen who demands free speech must also accept the duty to promote harmony and not incite hatred.

🌍

India's Unique Diversity

No other Constitution in the world serves such a diverse population — 22 official languages, hundreds of dialects, multiple religions, and vast economic inequality. Yet one document unites us all.

Awareness Changes Everything

Most violations of rights happen because people don't know they have those rights. If every Indian knew Article 21, they could fight for their dignity. Knowledge is the greatest weapon.

🙏

Acknowledgements

We express our deepest gratitude to our Faculty Guide, Devender Sir and Pawan Sir for their invaluable guidance and support throughout this project. Their expertise in constitutional law and education helped us shape this website into a meaningful learning resource.

We thank Delhi University for introducing the Value Addition Course (VAC) on Constitutional Values and Fundamental Duties — a subject that every Indian student should study. This course expanded our understanding of citizenship beyond academics.

We acknowledge the contributions of India's Constituent Assembly Members, especially Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Sardar Patel, whose vision created the framework we explored in this project.

Finally, we thank every Freedom Fighter who sacrificed their comfort, liberty, and lives so that we could sit in classrooms and study the Constitution they helped bring into existence. This project is, in a small way, our tribute to them.
